Making Hand Painted (Kalamkari), Hand Embroidery & Applique

Description

This lovingly handmade stole is a perfect accessory to add dimension and an element of interest to your outfit. It is one of those pieces that would transcend seasons and get more beautiful with age.

Kalamkari is a traditional Indian. The art form of hand painting on fabric, done using a 'kalam' or pen, and natural dyes. The kalamkari panel has been created in the village of Shrikalahasti, in Madhya Pradesh, it mirrors the timeless magnificence of nature. Tiny songbirds hide behind the blooming vines. Kalamkari leaves have been replicated on teal-colored silk. The first rays of the sun touched the weaver's hands as he weaved the silk fabric. Infused with the healing properties of the sun, this is a work of pure art. It took a month to put together the entire piece. The wool-silk stole is a must-have in your wardrobe.
