Description
A long time ago in a distant land, there was a camel caravan that crossed the majestic dunes of the Sahara desert to bring ivory and elephants from the interiors of Africa. Known as Darb al Arbein, or the forty days' road, so named because of the length of time it took to complete the journey.
It took forty days to complete this handmade woman stole, almost the same amount of time that the camels used to take to reach their destination. Woven at a slow pace, the woolen piece passed through many loving hands, its long journey signifies the pure essence of heart-made and handmade fabric. The eyes of the woven camel and elephant motifs tell stories of close bonds and faraway horizons. Intricate aari work motifs speak of an elaborate history. Adorn this luxurious wool-silk stole to feel the glory of that journey right around your shoulders.
