Making Hand Block Printed (Ajrakh) , Hand Embroidery & Applique
Description
The never-seen-before design features an interesting layout of geometric Ajrakh panels on handwoven wool. A unique form of hand block printing, Ajrakh is the Arabic word for indigo, the art involves sixteen tedious steps. The latticed pattern on silk has been inspired by Islamic architecture and speaks of the rich cultural heritage of the Kutch region in Gujarat.
It has been embellished with exquisite applique work and embroidery. It took more than two months to craft the piece. This mesmerizing handmade stole is a must-have in your wardrobe.
